Bikes for Kids

Each year, Kids Action partners with local schools to connect families in need with our annual Bikes for Kids program. Over 12,500 nomination letters are sent to give children across Pottawatomie County a chance to receive a brand-new bike this holiday season.

On December 13, 2025, families will gather to pick up bikes and enjoy festive activities like a Christmas fair, bike maintenance, and a holiday store with free clothes, toys, books, and treats.

This year’s window ran from October 1 through November 14. Please check back here in September for information about the next nomination period.

Each application is thoughtfully reviewed by a dedicated committee that evaluates submissions based on clear criteria, prioritizing children and families with the greatest financial need. While we strive to provide bikes to as many kids as possible, availability is limited and bikes cannot be guaranteed for every applicant.

We appreciate your understanding and thank all families and school faculty for their interest and support as we work to serve our community fairly and with compassion.
