Bikes for Kids

Each year, Kids Action partners with local schools to connect families in need with our annual Bikes for Kids program. Over 12,500 nomination letters are sent to give children across Pottawatomie County a chance to receive a brand-new bike this holiday season.

On December 13, 2025, families will gather to pick up bikes and enjoy festive activities like a Christmas fair, bike maintenance, and a holiday store with free clothes, toys, books, and treats.

Since its launch, Kids Action has gifted over 9,400 bikes, promoting healthy, active lifestyles and brightening the holidays for families facing financial challenges.

Bike Nomination Will Open October 1, 2025

The nomination period for Bikes for Kids opens October 1 and closes November 28. Applications must be completed online and will be available here once the window opens.

Each application is thoughtfully reviewed by a dedicated committee who assess submissions based on clear criteria, prioritizing children and families with the greatest financial need. While we strive to provide bikes to as many kids as possible, availability is limited and bikes cannot be guaranteed for every applicant.

We encourage families and school faculty to apply early and appreciate your understanding as we work to serve our community fairly and with compassion.
